Miranda surprised me with a request for one more gift for one of her favorite teachers. She asked if I could make a doll in the likeness of Socrates. Although I couldn't find a pattern for one, I think I did a pretty good job of modifying a standard amigurumi figure to make look like the famous Greek philosopher.
I had to completely wing it on the clothes, but I'm really pleased with how he turned out. Now I just have to resist the urge to create *all* of the famous philosophers! Nietzsche, Bietzsche!

i didn't have a specific pattern for Socrates. i used a basic amigurumi figure, then winged the outfit. the beard was a softer yarn that i embroidered on, then brushed with a pet brush to make it more "hair-like". i am pretty sure the toga was just a tube and i did single crochets for the sleeveholes. i hope you make one and let me see yours! it is a cute gift idea for a philosophy teacher!
are the clothes separated from the body or were they crocheted as one? im just a beginner and I cannot make pieces unless there are patterns 😅
they are separate from the body. do you know how to crochet in the round? i made the toga by chaining long enough to go around the body, joined the chain, and did single crochets in each chain stitch until it was as long as i wanted. then, instead of continuing to single crochet in to the toga, i chain stitched enogh stitches to fit over the arm, then slipstitched to attach the end to the garment. the blue wrap was just a long rectangle of single crochets, abd i justed a chainstitch to make the belt.
