F Bomb!

....probably because I'm so busy with school and work that there is no blogging time left in the schedule!  Doesn't mean I've not found time to crochet, though.
These funny F Bombs are the latest thing I've made, at the request of someone who saw one I made for my sister.  They work up quickly and are just fun to toss around, I think.  Shockingly, I actually typed the pattern up and put it up for people to use if they need directions for creating the ball of the bomb.

F bomb
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (two sc in one stitch)
dec = decrease (crochet two sc together)
I like using the magic ring to begin the ball, but you can chain 2, then sc 6 in first chain if you prefer

Row 1: Magic ring, sc x 6 in ring (6)
Row 2: inc in each stitch around (12)
Row 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (18)
Row 4:  (2 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (24)
Row 5: (3 sc, inc) repeat x 5(30)
Row 6: (4 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (36)
Row 7: (5 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (42)
Row 8: sc around (42)
Row 9L 6 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (48)
Row 10: sc around (48)
Row 11: (7 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (54)
Row 12: sc around (54)
Row 13: (8 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (60)
Row 14-18: sc around (60)
Row 19: (8 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (54)
Row 20: sc around (54)
Row 21: (7 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (48)
Row 22: sc around (48)
Row 23: (6 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (42)
Row 24: sc around (42)  Begin stuffing ball
Row 25: (5 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (36)
Row 26: (4 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (30)
Row 27: (3 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (24)
Row 28: (2 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (18)
Row 29: (1 sc, dec) repeat x 5 (12) Finish stuffing ball before final decreases
Row 30: dec x 6 (6)
Row 31: dec x 3, finish off.

Bomb top
Row 1: magic ring, sc x 6 in ring (6)
Row 2: inc in each stitch around (12)
Row 3: (1 sc, inc) repeat x 5 (18)
Row 4: sc around in back loop of each stitch (18)
Row 5-7: sc around (18) finish off

Pull a small scrap of white yarn through center of magic ring on bomb top and tie a knot so that it doesn’t pull through.  Tie another knot near end of yard, leaving some at the very end to fray.  Stuff bomb top lightly and sew to top of ball.

F shape
Sew F onto front of bomb.  Then drop it. :-)

Great idea...I can see me running to get my f bomb and smashing it at who ever made me f mad.

yes, a more acceptable way of dropping the f bomb when you're angry!

I've been making a ton of these. Would you be okay with me selling the finished product and linking back to you?

deblon said...

Absolutely! I am selling them myself and am 100% behind any fellow crocheter being able to make extra yarn money with them. Thanks for asking, very thoughtful!

What size hook did you use?

deblon said...

It depends on the yarn. I usual go one size smaller than the recommended hook size on the yarn label to make it a nice and tight fabric.

Omg I love it! I made my hubby one using freehand and yours looks so much better than mine so I'm going to use your pattern. Thanks!

Does anyone have a cute little poem that could go along with this? It would be super cute for some colleagues for Christmas!
