Lucy the Elephant

This is my version of Lucy the Elephant which I created as a gift for the newest member of our family, Keily's daughter also named Lucy!

Everyone needs an elephant in the garden, I'm sure.

what do you call a group of trolls?

They're not really a gang of trolls....

Here are the two latest additions to the family.
I have ideas for more, but this is the the whole troll clan for now.

there's a troll in the dungeon.....

Or my yard.

Ok, I lied.  There are *two* trolls in my yard

Expect more trolls.  I'm planning on getting a table at a show in the fall, so I'm trying to build an inventory.

Dragon

I wanted to make something dramatic for Ross.  He likes the Hobbit, so I made him his own Smaug.

I will admit, this dragon has been the most ambitious crochet project I've done so far.
I purchased the pattern from GemCreations and overall I found it to be a pretty good pattern.  I attempted to insert some bendable wire into the wings to give more control over the wing position, but I wasn't able to find a wire that didn't break too easily with manipulation.  I'm going to keep looking for a workable solution, as I don't think this is going to be my last dragon.

Picture all three dragons from Game of Thrones, very dramatic!

a hurry up and post already post

I need to get these pictures posted before the new semester swings into high gear.  I'm officially full-time this time around.  I'm officially nervous about the workload, too!  Kait and Miranda are also getting started on the spring semester, so we're getting our schedules worked out for classes/talking time. All three of us full-time college students, gasp! If Kait and I don't get some discipline about going to sleep, we're both going to be some seriously sleep-deprived students!

This is another ladybug for Julia.  This time, however, I made the pattern myself.  I think this one looks slightly less creepy than the last one.  Julia says she liked them both, so I don't know. I wasn't thrilled with the last one.

This is Gunter from Adventure Time.  He's apparently pretty evil, though I think it just makes him cute. Bri seemed to think so, too!  I made this pattern, too.  One of these days I might write it down so I can share.

The unicorn from Despicable Me was for Bella.  It's so fluffy!!!  Free pattern here.

The hat looks better on Paisley, I think!

Twelve-point star I made for Paisley, also.

Swayze and Miranda showing some holiday spirit!

A blanket that is taking forever, but it's almost done!

A really really cute squirrel I made for someone because she has to have it but I never see her anymore, so he's mine until she comes to Millville again.

My dad being a hipster.  I'm genetically predisposed, you see.
Ross being Elliott Ness.
No.  Just...no.

#1 threat to america

I've not been posting much because all my free waking hours have been spent studying for chemistry.  But I wasn't just taking chemistry. I was also taking an art appreciation class where I got to make some paper mache stuff.  So, bears!

The semester ended a couple weeks ago, but then every waking free moment has been spent making gifts for Christmas. I'll be posting pics of all the gifts I made shortly.

Adipose!

It is fun to make things for people who like the same things as me.  Case in point, my boyfriend's sister, Joanna.  She likes Dr. Who at least as much as I do.  So what a great excuse to make one of the cutest little creatures from the show, Adipose!
He is adorable, even if he is a pound of body fat!  If you want to make an adipose of your own, the pattern is here.  I found it absolutely necessary to read her FAQ and errata post to finish the feet and confirm an error or two I noticed in the pattern.  A more persnickety person might have corrected the posted pattern, but either way, I love the results!  There will be more adipose in the future, trust me.
